Leading serviced office and flexible workspace provider, Office Space in Town (OSiT), has appointed Georgia Sandom, already the company’s youngest ever Director, as its new Director of ESG.
This appointment comes at the same time as OSiT launches its innovative new ESG strategy, which reflects the company’s longstanding values around sustainability, social diversity and inclusion and governance, as well as its ambitions to reach net zero and further enhance commitment to its ESG principles.
The policy launches during a period which has seen a record 70% increase in client enquiries about ESG values and as businesses across the flexible workspace sector, and real estate industry more widely, assess how to take the most effective genuine steps embedding ESG values.
The built environment contributes up to 40% of global emissions, but OSiT’s environmental policy is already helping to mitigate this – with 100% of its waste being diverted from landfills, and a new sustainability committee. And whilst only 19% of real estate directors are women, OSiT’s board of directors is already 67% female. The new strategy and Sandom’s appointment indicate a commitment to continue to strengthen these principles across the organisation in a measurable and sustainable way.
Georgia Sandom, Director of ESG at OSiT, said: “ESG principles have long been at the heart of OSiT’s mission, but there is a lot of work to be done in ensuring we continue to meet and exceed these standards. At OSiT, we want ESG to be woven into our business strategy, and we will achieve this by continuing to improve and measure our efforts.
“I am confident that we can drive our progress further – all the more important at such a pivotal time for ESG in the flexible office space and real estate sectors.”
Giles Fuchs, CEO at OSIT, said: “Georgia has been with us for over a decade, so we are delighted to announce her appointment as our new Director of ESG. The development of OSiT’s strategy around ESG commitments will be vital to the long-term vision and performance of the company, and there is no one better to lead us into this future.
“Georgia’s appointment marks OSiT’s ambition to drive progress and innovation in the industry. With several of this year’s deals stemming from enquiries about our ESG policies, the focus on ESG is certainly a pattern we see continuing in the flexible office space sector as a whole.”
