Extending the reach of your content

Do you have content that you want people to read? There are plenty of ways to make sure that your content reaches as many people as possible.

You need to know what those ways are and how to take advantage of those tools. When building up your content, you need to know where these people are. Sharing your content on social media can help but your content really has a short shelf life on those types of platforms due to the number of people posting on them.

Using the Right Platforms

You will more likely than spend hours promoting your content on social media platforms. While that will yield you some results, it will only get you so far. You need to use more if you want your content to reach the potential you think it has. Social media is great to maintain the relationship you have with your current readers but it does very little to foster in new viewership. For new traffic, you will have to tap into other powerful and relevant networks. Networks like Outbrain, Klout, Drumpup, and Viral Content Buzz are just some networks that you can use to help branch out your content and bring in new readers and traffic.

Another platform to think about using is one that allows your content to be read by the device a person is on. About 15-20% of the world’s population has some sort of language-based learning disability. Getting software that allows your content to reach that large population is huge. Text to speech with natural voices would allow your content to reach a population that is too often forgotten about.

Try and Get Influencers Involved

This one may be a big ask but if you can get someone that already has a big following to promote your content. That will go a long way in making sure your content reaches well over the amount you were hoping. This may be difficult for you to complete, but don’t be afraid to get out there and just ask. The worst they can tell you is no. You need to sell your content, they can help you do that, so when you ask them, make the best pitch you possibly can. Having an influencer promote your content is a huge advantage. This is not a must but a huge plus to have in your corner.

In the end, promoting your content is a needed step for every content creator. Everyone wishes that their content was good enough to be a hit right off the bat but that is rarely the case. There will be times that it will seem tough and hopeless but you have to push through and keep the content coming and the marketing going. The biggest thing that will help your content grow is making sure it is good to start with. No matter how much you promote the content, if it is not good, people will not come back to it.
